THE TRUE STORY OF A 42 YEAR OLD LADY WHO WAS WRONGFULLY IMPRISONED AND DIED WHILE IN COBB COUNTY JAIL'S CUSTODY

JUSTICE FOR BUNNIE LARGE

Bunnie Large, In Loving Memory Of Bunnie Large, Justice For Bunnie

JAN 9TH 2025My Mother Bunnie Large was wrongfully convicted into Cobb County Jail on January 9th of 2025. She was wrongfully arrested for minor shoplifting charges. Despite having the money to pay the officer used his authority of power to incarcerate my mother. No opportunity was presented for my mother to pay for her items.

I was in my car of the Walmart parking lot when I noticed my mother’s location change via her iPhone. Prior to this I went inside to check on my mother to ensure she was doing alright. During that time everything was fine up until I tracked her to Cobb’s Wellstar Hospital. When I arrived at Wellstar I asked about my mother, and they said she was in police custody.

Less than a month earlier my mother Bunnie Large was admitted into Cobb Wellstar hospital and received 5 blood transfusions due to a bleeding ulcer. Bunnie was familiar with Cobb County jails neglect so she tried getting proper medical care before being incarcerated.

BOND DENIEDNot even a year ago Bunnie Large served 2 years in state prison for past shoplifting charges. While being prosecuted by Cobb County Jail, Carroll County’s Sheriff put a hold on my mother’s case. She wasn’t put in front of a judge for the 100 days she was incarcerated. Bunnie’s court appointed lawyer didn’t have any answers for my mother. When I tried contacting this lawyer I would be sent to his secretary. Every time I called, I would be connected and told she would relay my calls. Days would pass, and many calls later I still never received a call.

MEDICAL REQUESTS IGNORED

The calls I received from my mother Bunnie Large were always with good spirit. Despite the negligence staff put her through. I had a close relationship with my mother she would keep me updated on her case, and health every time we spoke. A couple times over the phone she mentioned to me the medical requests she put in. They were either ignored or outright denied. From the information my mother told me they would prescribe her ibuprofen for pain while suffering from server ulcers. She would be seen by medical staff within the facility, and they would witness her blood pressure fluctuate from high to low and never helped.

HER LAST CALL FOR HELP

The last call I received from my mother was the day before she passed on 04/21/2025. She sounded like she was in good health, and she never told me anything was wrong. Other than the fact they were still denying her medical requests. Prior to this call the last time I heard from my mother was on 03/19/2025. When I talked to my mother on April 21st, she told me they had her in lockdown since the last time we talked to each other.

There was only so much I could do while being outside of the place she was incarcerated. Compared to the 30-minute calls I would typically have with my mother our last call only lasted 18 minutes as an inmate officer had our call disconnected. There is sensitive information regarding this case that will soon be shared, and it will shock the world on how negligent jails can be. As much as I want to share this information it's in my best responsibility to pursue legal actions prior to this information being let out.

JUSTICE I AM SEEKING

Many people from Facebook to Twitter will suggest I am pursuing legal actions for the money. When the truth is far from that. Any income I make would be to benefit the people who have been wrongfully incarcerated for something as minor as shoplifting charges, and it will go to my family that has been neglected by the system for the past 11 years. They have done so by keeping my mother incarcerated, separating her from her kids, and never offering any sort of help. I find it in my right state of mind that any county should offer programs to those in need and not incarcerate them so they can collect tax paying dollars. It is unfair to many that if you can't afford a personal lawyer, you will receive a court appointed lawyer that will do the bare minimum to seek justice for the person they are representing.

My mother Bunnie Large will be known for more than what the state has made her out to be. In honor of my mother, I want to seek justice for many who may be neglected by the law. I know the goals I have envisioned won't happen overnight, but they are reasonable and can happen.

BUNNIE LARGE'S OFFENSES

Someone such as my mother can be arrested for allegedly stealing only food products. Her first misdemeanor offense was for something as minor as that since the system gave up on her in the process of taking all of her kids. She told me the story of her first offense, and it was only to provide food for her loved ones. After that a long journey of neglect from the system began. Her second offense at allegedly shoplifting food led her to becoming a felon to the state. Her life was already impacted negatively, and this only made it worst. She could not find a job with adequate income based on the fact she was then a felon. Her third offense led her to a life altering decision. Based on the fact she could not find a proper job, and no one was willing to help she had to figure out how to eat and provide for herself. During my mother Bunnie Large's fourth alleged shoplifting offense I was there, and it did not play out how the system makes it to be. As I mentioned she had the money to pay, but the officer never presented the opportunity.

DEFAMATION OF HER CHARACTER

Cobb County's sheriff Craig Owens has come out with a statement referring to my mother as a homeless individual. He has tried to tarnish her name to cover up the neglect at play. He doesn't want people questioning what happened, but I am on a path for justice. Craig Owens has used my mother's name to tarnish the many homeless people who are incarcerated. Referring jail as a place for refugee for those people.

In my view I don't think anyone should ever view jail as an escape to being homeless. Especially people who work for the system. Homeless people should have adequate resources to get their life on track. If someone has lost their identification or social, it's harder to obtain one without the proper resources they may need.

Prior to my mother Bunnie Large's incarceration, me and her where living in a hotel. It probably wasn't a place that many may refer to as a home that they know, but we where doing everything we could to get our lives back on track. I would sacrifice a lot to make sure my mother had what she needed as she did for me while I was younger not even 4 months into us staying at a hotel she was incarcerated.

Prior to those 4 months my mother had been released from Cobb County's Jail system. Where I went to pick my mother up at a waffle house up the street. I did not realize how close I picked my mother up from the cobb county jail that day until investigators called my phone and had me come to the place she was incarcerated to tell me she passed away. Which I passed the waffle house, and broke out into tears after I heard the information pertaining my mother.

JARVIS SAVAGE'S TRIBUTE

I remember growing up I could say we had everything we wanted. We would go shopping in the mall and come back with tons of clothes and shoes. All the way to visiting local thrift stores and finding antiques there. We had multiple fridges, and deep freezers stocked with food. This was all before the age of 13 around that age our life took a downshift. I have never blamed my mother for these actions. The world is full of jealousy, and greed. People would take advantage of my mother being the generous lady she was. I remember when we were living in Whitesburg GA a lady had my mother's kids taken away due to the simple fact our heat didn't work. Despite having a fireplace and providing adequate temperature that wasn't enough. I loved every day being with my mother, and siblings. When I was separated there was nowhere, I ever asked to be other than back with them where I was happy, and not antisocial.

Allow me to tell the story, and I'll let you know my mother Bunnie Large was terrific and wonderful at everything she did. Her kids always had what they needed, and she'd always get us what we want. The year silly bands were everything kids would talk about my mother gave me a $100 bill to go spend on all the silly bands I wanted. I also remember going to a grocery store, and chips where discounted to 87 cents for the big bags of lays, doritos, and other varieties. She bought the entire shelf and spent nearly $500. The next couple days we went again where we found out that store had to put a limit. I remember giving out tons of big bags of chips to the entire neighborhood and even taking them to school to share. From asking people their favorite chips to bringing it the next day. Despite how many my mother bought we didn't have them in our possession for too long as we made sure everyone got a share.

Growing up during the summer our mother bought us a pool, and so many more items such as water slides and making tarps we could slide on. It started with little kid pools, and as the years progressed, we eventually got a big pool we could swim in as we got older. I remember living in Rome GA I had a friend, and I went to her grandmother's pool with my little sister and mother. I was young during this time, and my sister somehow got into the pool. I was the one to save my sister as I was already in the pool swimming. My little sister would always follow in my footsteps, and I believe that is the reason behind why she got into it to begin with.

I have so many wonderful memories with my mother all the way from playing in the neighborhood with her as a kid all the way to growing up and living the life we did. Many people will say no one is perfect, and some might judge my mother for her actions. I am here to say my mother was as perfect as she could be. When the system and many others let up on her she tried her best to not let up on herself. My mother was a strong lady she raised 5 kids all not even a couple years older than the next. She worked for the many years that she could prior to any inconvenience's that led up to her incarceration. She rarely ever did anything for herself, and she did so much for her kids and family. The sacrifices my mother has made ensured me to be a great kid in her image. She was loved and wasn't homeless during the time of her arrest.

GOALS

Here I will let you know what I'll do with the revenue, and advice I may receive along the way. My mother Bunnie Large always had a passion for helping others and wanting to understand why people do the things they do. We have talked about the system in the past how they shouldn't give up on people so easily. When someone is arrested for a felony, their life becomes more distraught than previously. Many felonies shouldn't be at play when someone's life is at stake. I believe shoplifting food, and other petty crimes should be treated as equally as the judge who sentences someone to being incarcerated. That judge had the resources, and opportunities to better their life. Judges never put themselves in the eyes of the one they incarcerate. So many people are put in front of a judge in a day, and the judge just goes with what's most suitable for their day to end.

I want this long neglect upon the system, and their people to end. I will speak out against the wrongful doing of judges, and jails starting across the state of Georgia. Hopefully I can obtain the resources or funds to help someone's life in danger of being prosecuted for something that could be avoided with the proper help or actions. In the long run I want to start an organization that would provide resources to those in need. There is something wrong with the system when you have people imprisoned for simply trying to keep themself sane and to eat.
